Drift ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Michael Caswell, British Columbia, Canada. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use godrift.fm and related services.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly:

• Account information (email address, name, password hash)
• Payment information (processed by Stripe — we never store card numbers)
• Content you generate using Drift (lyrics, coordinate positions, patches)
• Communications you send us

We collect information automatically:

• Usage data (generation count, features used, session duration)
• Device information (browser type, operating system)
• IP address and approximate location
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see our Cookie Policy)

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Drift service
• To process payments and manage your subscription
• To enforce tier limits and track usage
• To send transactional emails (receipts, password resets)
• To send product updates (you can opt out at any time)
• To detect and prevent fraud and abuse
• To comply with legal obligations

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL database) hosted in the Americas region. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext.

Generated lyrics and patch data are stored in your account and visible only to you, unless you explicitly share them.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase — database and authentication. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.
• Modal — AI model hosting. Your generation requests are processed on Modal's infrastructure. Subject to Modal's Privacy Policy.
• Suno (via sunoapi.org) — audio generation. Your lyrics are sent to Suno for audio rendering. Subject to Suno's terms.
• Cloudflare — CDN and DNS. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Generation history is retained for 12 months on paid plans and 30 days on the free plan. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting [email protected].

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:

• Access to your personal data
• Correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Portability of your data
• Objection to processing

Children's Privacy

Drift is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on godrift.fm. Your continued use of Drift after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
